Sophos 防毒軟體重裝

狀況：
重裝 Sophos 防毒軟體，但裝好後開啟主控台卻無法操作。

解法：
用 Microsoft Fixit 工具移除 Sophos anti-virus 相關軟體，重開機再次安裝就正常了。

環境需求：
兩個辦公室網路必須是 VPN 可互通。
server1 是第一辦公室的 sophos server
server2 是第一辦公室的 sophos update server

安裝：
在第二辦公室的 server2 執行 \\server1\SUMInstallSet\setup.exe，用預設值裝到底。

設定：

• 開啟 server1 的 Sophos Enterprise Console，選 Update Managers
• 在 server2 按右鍵選 View/Edit Configuration
• 加入 update source，選 server1

Lenovo IdeaPad S410 安裝 Windows XP

這一台的 BIOS 沒辦法調整 SATA mode，它預設只有 AHCI 沒有 IDE，因為 Windows XP 預設只支援 IDE 硬碟，所以安裝 Windows XP 時會說找不到硬碟。

Lenovo 網站上 S410 沒有提供 Windows XP driver download。

先安裝 Windows 7 查看 SATA controller 的晶片，確認是 Intel(R) 8 Series Chipset Family SATA AHCI Controller。Hardware Id: VEN_8086&DEV_9C03。

Acer notebook Windows 7 & Windows 8

在 PChome 買了 Acer TravelMate P243-M，網頁上說是 Windows 8，但是開機卻是 Windows 7。

PChome客服說要問 Acer 客服，但是 Acer 客服卻沒人接...

幸好有認識 Acer 資深 Sales 問到答案了。

因為現在 Windows 8 剛推出，有些人要用 Windows 7 有些人要用 Windows 8，所以 Acer 在 Recovery Manager 裡面兩個 OS image 都放。

預設開機會自動設定成 Windows 7。
如果要用 Windows 8 步驟為：
1. 開機讓 Windows 7 第一次設定完成
2. 重開機，在 BIOS 階段按 Alt + F10 進入 Recovery Manager
3. 選擇復原為 Windows 8

The BIOS key is really "F2". But why it doesn't work?
Because the shutdown of Windows 8 is not really shutdown. It should be "Hibernation" only.

How to really shutdown Windows 8?
Press "Shift" key when you shutdown PC. And the BIOS key "F2" should work at the next boot up.

Press "F12 key" on boot up.

IBM x3250 install SCSI card

Power on IBM x3250 with error message "error 1801 no more room for option rom" after install SCSI card  LSI20320ie.

Wordaround  solution:

Disable the some devices option rom via BIOS configuration settings.

• Press F1 to enter the Setup and Configuration Utility when prompted at POST.
• Select the Startup Option menu.
• Disable Planar Ethernet PXE/DHCP.

開機時按 F9 可選擇 Boot Device menu，按 F10 可進入 BIOS。
